Experience one of the area’s most anticipated events of the year at Mt. Cuba Center’s Tree Festival on September 28th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Any visitor in attendance will relish in the awe-inspiring hues with the option to learn more about the woodland creatures in the area and horticulture.
2. Longwood Gardens
Come one, come all to experience a real-life fairytale! Longwood Gardens, a 1,077-acre property, offers visitors the opportunity to explore 11,000 different plant species, giant, tiny, and everything in between. This gorgeous garden is set to host its annual Chrysanthemum Festival. Both events showcase horticulture brilliance of the Longwood Garden team and is sure to inspire a crowd-pleasing reaction.
3. Hagley Museum
If you consider yourself a nature and history enthusiast, you won’t want to miss the chance to explore 235 acres of the stunning Hagley Museum property. You will get to see historic architecture, the library, and lush gardens, along with the original du Pont Family Company powder mills and home. The Hagley team recommends setting aside at least 3 hours to enjoy the property in its entirety.
4. Winterthur Museum, Garden, and Library
This mansion-turned-museum is another one of the du Pont family’s pristine public properties and garden areas. Guests who visit Winterthur Museum will have the pleasure of adventuring through 60 acres of autumn beauty, special exhibits, shopping, and dining. Starting on October 20th, visitors can also check out their newest feature, Royal Splendor: The Coronation Gown from The Crown, a display based on the popular Netflix series about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II.
5. Fall Foliage Express
All aboard the West Chester Railroad! It’s time to experience the Pennsylvania fall landscape like never before. Hop on the train, sit back, and revel in a 90-minute ride to the historic village of Glen Mills, all while taking in the breathtaking Chester Creek Valley scenery.
6. Adult Trick or Treat
You’re never too old to partake in annual traditions, even trick or treating! From September 28th through October 27th, Chaddsford Winery will be hosting their anticipated event, Adult Trick or Treat, where attendees visit a number of Halloween-themed pairing stations. Each guest will taste wines and delicious snacks along the way. Talk about a scary good time!
7. Blooms and Bamboo
If you’re envisioning an incredible and enchanting autumn experience like no other, then Blooms and Bamboo at Longwood Gardens will blow your mind! Visitors will be wowed by the incredible bamboo towers and enchanting arrangements created by international artists from October 3rd through November 17th.
8. Live music in the Beer Garden at Longwood
Tis the season for great music, beer, scenery, friends, and family! 9. The Great Pumpkin Carve
One of our favorite seasonal traditions is pumpkin carving. You get the chance to show off your creative imagination while making lasting memories. That’s why we recommend the Great Pumpkin Carve to guests visiting October 17th through 19th! This spectacular event showcases spooky and inventive pumpkin carvings from talented artists. Additionally, attendees can visit the pumpkin patch, a giant kid-friendly haunted trail, hayrides, and live music.
10. Chester County Day Tradition
Last, but not least, is Chester County Day on October 5th! This annual event allows guests to visit renowned homes, public structures and historic sites in the County’s southeast quadrant, including Westtown, Glen Mills, Willistown, Malvern and Berwyn, all while enjoying the gorgeous fall scenery.
