Searching for a B&B near Longwood Gardens?
The Inn at Whitewing Farm is literally right next door!
You know what they say... "Location, location, location!" That's why Whitewing Farm is considered by many to be the best B&B from from which to explore Longwood Gardens and other Brandywine Valley attractions including Winterthur and Brandywine River Museum. After all we're not just near Longwood Gardens, we're literally right next door to Longwood Gardens!
The land on which Longwood Gardens sits was once a dairy farm owned by the Pierces, a Quaker family. They sold it to Pierre DuPont who created Longwood Gardens, all but 44 acres, which was sold to Russell and Bertha Pippen for their Whitewing Farm.
Today, more than 100 years later, Whitewing Farm is a bed and breakfast inn tucked away on a country road behind Longwood Gardens. The circa 1700 farmhouse, featured in the prestigious Chester County Home Tour, provides breathtaking panoramic views, a fully stocked pond, immaculately kept grounds with exquisite rare trees and perennials, Har-tru tennis court and putting green.
Generously sized guest rooms and suites are separate from the farmhouse. Suites include fireplaces and all have private bathrooms with marble floors, cozy towels, terry-cloth robes, hand made pillows and bedding ensembles all done in a rich, Hunt Country elegance. It's easy to see why Glamour magazine named Whitewing Farm one of six top romantic places.
You won't find a B&B closer to Longwood Gardens and you won't find another B&B like the Inn at Whitewing Farm.
